Darklight, Skylight: A Rare Collection of Shadows, Forms and Frames
Bromley House Library is one of the best kept secrets of Nottingham. Built as a town House in 1752 to commemorate the wedding of a banker to the grand-daughter of a prince. Bromley House began as a fine domestic residence. A reversal of fortunes led to its refurbishment as a private library in 1820,and it is this varied history that informs the exhibition 'Darklight, Skylight: A Rare Collection of Shadows, Forms and Frames '.
From 1st-13th November 2010 the attic rooms of Bromley House were transformed by a group of East Midlands artists, Janet Turville, Jane Pepper, Nicola Rae, and Helen Williams responded to the venue with a mixed media exhibition of site-specific interpretations and interventions.
